LIFE iCirBuS-4Industries Project for a Sustainable Regional Economy is funded with two million Euro and will be developed until 2019. Gestiona Global is a project partner.
This partnership works to give a solution for the different environmental problems provoked by biomass power plants waste (fly ash) and water treatments (sewage treatment sludge).
LIFE iCirBUS-4Industries Project will show the possibilities of using flying ash from Biomass Power PLants as heavy metals adsorptive agent and also for other dangerous organic compounds which can be found in muds from local sewage treatment, under the aim of subsequently using them as low impact fertilizers.
In a second stage, the ash employed for the asorption of contaminants is valuable as recyclable building material. The key of the project is turning fly ash valuable in two stages, offering relevant innovation for other procedure of turning muds into fertilizers, which is a strategy of a zero-waste goal.
