On 20th, 21st and 22nd March 2019, we attended a second follow-up meeting of the LIFE project LiveAdapt (Adaptation to Climate Change of extensive Livestock Production Models in Europe), which seeks, through an international research team in Spain, Portugal and France, the implementation of a strategy based on innovative technologies and practices that allow the adaptation to climate change of livestock production models in southern Europe.

Gestiona Global is one of the nine partners participating in the project coordinated by the University of University of Córdoba, such as the la Associação de Defesa do Património de Mértola (ADPM), the  Associação Nacional de Conservação da Natureza (QUERCUS), the Institut de l’Elevage de Francia (IDELE),  the Fundación EntreTantos, SmartDehesa SL, Agronatura Servicios Forestales y Agrarios S.L. and the Federación Española de productores de la Dehesa (FEDEHESA)

During The meeting, held in the Portuguese village of Mértola, in the “Bajo Alentejo”, each one of the partners explained the progress in the project’s technical actions and tasks, which lasts four years. Also, technical visits have been made to livestock farms and a meeting with farmers to present the project and seek their involvement. Finally, two discussion tables have been held, the first on the current situation and the prospects for the future regarding Climate Change in the Alentejo region; and, the second, aimed at discussing different adaptation measures.
